Floriworld is a new Flower and Plants experience center in Aalsmeer (NL). It invites visitors in the world of flowers and plants to make them feel what they do with us. Green Fortune (part of Donker Groep) was asked to design the interior of two areas that are complately about plants. These areas makes you feel the power of plants.
The design consists of all different kind of plants and plant-installations:

Welcome Me Plaza
– Bouquet-walk: Vertically curved plantwall that creates a catwalk for bouquets that float through the room on a transport system.
– Plant stalagmites
– Mirrors at the border of the bottom-lit planters multiply the volume of green
– Hanging green

Groei-en-bloei-show
– Plantwires
– Plant Chandeliers
– Plantwalls integrated with different objects
– Big rotating silhouet of a small plant with a projector behind it

And the biggest challenge: no daylight. We had to create it all in a black box. With the help of Parus we were able to create a lighting scene where the plants are able to grow eventhough they don’t get daylight. It results in very interesting observations of plant behavior in artificial light.

We are very happy that Floriworld is allowed to open its door again. Now only the tourists have to come.
